About SAJAG - Shree Ahmedabad Jain Active Group

Hello and welcome to SAJAG.

We began our journey in 2008, guided and blessed by Pujya Acharya Shree Muktivallabh Suri Maharaj Saheb, Pujya Acharya Shree Udayvallabh Suri Maharaj Saheb, and Pujya Acharya Shree Hridayvallabh Suri Maharaj Saheb. What started as a small spark of compassion in Ahmedabad has now grown into a dedicated movement of love, service, and care for every living being.

Since 2009, we’ve been working tirelessly and honestly; there’s been no looking back. From offering milk to stray dogs, feeding cows, and placing water pots during the harsh summers, to distributing food to people living on the streets every Sunday and giving blankets to those in need during winter, SAJAG has always believed that kindness shouldn’t be limited to humans alone. And out of everything we do, there’s one effort that has truly become the heart of our mission: the Bird Camp.

Our Bird Camp - Saving Innocent Lives, One Wing at a Time

Every Uttarayan, while the sky fills with colourful kites, thousands of birds silently suffer because of the sharp, glass-coated threads that cut through their wings and their lives. In Ahmedabad alone, more than 4000 birds are injured every year during the Uttarayan festival, and approximately 150000 birds are injured during the year due to Kite Strings, Extreme Weather, and Infections.

Seeing this pain, we couldn’t remain silent.

In 2009, we launched our first Bird Camp, initially for just four days. But the need was far greater. Calls for help kept coming long after Uttarayan ended, and we realized something important:

Compassion cannot have an expiry date

And so, the Bird Camp became a 365-day, 24×7 service. Wherever an injured bird is found in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, day or night, our volunteers reach the spot and ensure the bird receives proper treatment at facilities such as Jivdaya Charitable Trust, Wildlife Care Centre, and other recognized centers.

For over 16 years, we have stood by this promise and continue to do so with pride and responsibility.

Spreading Wings - now in Gandhinagar also

With growing support and heartfelt encouragement, SAJAG has extended its Bird Rescue facility to Gandhinagar as well.
From 2022, our team has been actively serving the Gandhinagar community, rescuing injured birds and responding to emergency calls with the same dedication that defines us in Ahmedabad.

EVERY CITY, EVERY BIRD, EVERY LIFE MATTERS.

Our Guiding Principle

We follow the timeless Jain motto:

"Live and Make Live”

A belief that goes beyond simple coexistence, it asks us to protect and uplift every living being around us actively.

Why Join SAJAG?

Because together, we can make a difference that truly matters.
